Drank this beer at BAM Fest 2012 Santa Monica, CA
Thanks to Christopher Briles, the Owner of Cosmic Ales for this beer. This has been one of my favorite beers at the festival. By the time I had this one I had many others ; including some IPA’s; however, despite the strong hoppy notes on the others, this Brown Ale woke up my taste buds right away.

Aroma: strong smell of roasted malts, almost that of a Porter followed by some hops. The smell is a mixture of smokiness with citrusy notes.
Taste: Delicious! It was a party in my mouth! And as I said, I had a few strong Ales before, drinking this was was like a dessert beer. Initially one can taste the roasted malts. The roasted come strong and stay all through out the drink. Next, the chocolaty flavor comes in with some slight smokiness yet creamy in a sense. The last flavor is hops, not strong like a Pale Ale, but just below a Pilsner.
Overall: this beer was great, one of the best in the Fest to be honest. Highly recommend it to any one searching to get away from the funny-face-making beer like the strong Ales. Not so much a chick drink(meaning sweet) but this is a good beer to drink with your significant other as a starter or after a good pasta or fish.
